I really struggled with a topic for this week’s blog post. I keep telling myself I should write more about marketing, but I’m so immersed in actually doing it that I don’t have a lot of time to think about it. (Which probably doesn’t bode well for the book idea I have, but I digress.) I’m also aware that this blog is in danger of becoming a motorcycling blog, but hey, that’s how I live my life.
Then I realized something. I rarely write about the times when not much is going on, but all is right with the world. This past weekend, and hopefully the next week, were a great example of that.
I’m at home this coming week. The weather this past weekend was wonderful. We celebrated Suzanne on Saturday for an early Stepmom’s Day. Annie and I prepped the dirtbikes for riding Sunday, and then spent several unstructured hours just hanging out, and flying a kite. Sunday we helped GARTRA maintain the off-road vehicle trails at Whissenhunt. We met a great bunch of new folks, had some fun riding and working, and Annie got community service hours for Junior Beta. On the way back to Annie’s mom’s, Annie played DJ and sang at the top of her lungs. Sometimes I joined in.
I rode the bike to the gym this morning, and had a great workout. Now I’m writing in my blog, which I enjoy, and getting ready to do some work for a job that I also like. I’m going to go on a weekend trip with Suzanne shortly, combining our shared love of B&B’s with some great motorcycle riding. We’re in a pretty good position to buy a house when our lease is up. I have a job that I love, a great girlfriend, a smart kid, and the coolest dog ever.
Life’s pretty good. Makes for some dull reading, but sometimes, these things need to be recognized and said.
