I love the folks at Atlanta Cancer Care. Dr. D’s office staff, Lisa and Farrah Farah, have clued in to my sense of humor, and created a top 8 list of Halloween costumes for me now that I’ve lost my hair and beard.
8. | Freddie Krueger |
7. | Shrek |
6. | Dr. Phil |
5. | Uncle Fester |
4. | Homer Simpson |
3. |
Daddy Warbucks, and my daughter Annie could play, well, Annie. |
2. |
Charlie Brown, with Suzanne playing Lucy carrying the football. |

What do you think? Would love your vote or idea in the comments!
I’m voting for Shrek.
Mostly because while being green ain’t easy, it can be fun.
Amen, brotha. Actually, I’m torn right now between Shrek and Popeye.
How about John Locke, from Lost (my favorite character!)
Never saw Lost, but I like the description, and he kinda looks like an older me. (Just looked him up on Wikipedia. )
I vote for Dr. Phil.
Seems to be a popular option. I’ve also had a couple other suggestions to go with it – Mr. Clean was one, and I still have an old earring hole for the hoop. One that I thought up that I was surprised nobody came up with was Kojak, but that’s old school, I guess.
You forgot Don Rickles…
Hadn’t thought of Don Rickles – there’s another old school one.
Couple more from my Facebook friends:
Martian Manhunter
Lex Luthor
Professor X – Loving this one! Not much of a comic book/sci-fi guy, but I could totally rock Professor Xavier!
The great part about Shrek is that the grumpy ogre personality isn’t too much of a stretch for you.
And a few more from other social media outlets:
Bill Goldberg – actually looks a lot like the regular me, just way bigger and more buff!
Get a big wig and go as Marco Simoncelli
Yul Brynner in the Magnificent Seven
Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Dr. Evil
Whoever came up with that list is AWESOME:-) Just to make a correction though, there is only one ‘r’ in my name. POPEYE all the way!! See you soon.
My apologies! Don’t know that I ever saw your name in print, so I went old school on you and spelled it like Ms. Fawcett did.
Has to be Uncle Fester. Know I know who you’ve always reminded me of. 🙂
