Celebrating normal

Got up this morning around 7, felt okay. Milnormd nausea, but nothing major, and the pill killed it quick. Got Annie out of bed and moving, made coffee, breakfast, checked e-mail. Left a note for Suzanne that I was taking my convertible since it was cool outside, in case I didn’t get back before she wanted to leave for the gym.

Annie was so excited we were taking my car. She jumped right in, fired up the MP3 player to her folder, started digging for her favorite songs. We sang all kinds of crazy stuff all the way to camp, waved our hands in the air like we just didn’t care, and generally acted like fools.

After I dropped her off, I dropped off her gear at her Mom’s place, and on the way back realized that I was just having a good, normal day. I was even looking forward to working today.

People tell me that when all this is over, I’ll be different. I hope one way that I’ll be different is to remember to celebrate normal, cuz some days, normal is the best you can have.
